Designed as a multifamily rental apartment in the dense urban fabric of Sylhet, “Oli Vila” responds to the local climate through openness, natural ventilation, and durable material expression.
The building is carefully planned to remain open on all sides, maximizing daylight penetration and ensuring effective cross-ventilation throughout the apartments. To reduce long-term maintenance while enhancing thermal comfort, exposed brick has been used extensively on the exterior facade. The brick envelope not only provides a timeless architectural character but also helps keep the building naturally cooler in Sylhet’s tropical climate.
Special attention was given to masonry detailing and craftsmanship, transforming a conventional apartment building into a structure where material, climate, and functionality work together seamlessly.
